Hi, I'm Rulan Zheng.

This is my personal portfolio. My name is Rulan. I'm a problem solver with passion for leveraging technology to dramatically improve the lives of others. My formal background is in computer science, product design and product management, but I am also a learner and am curious about almost everything. I like science fiction, philosophy, art, robotics, and technologies. Waking up in the morning in awe of the world we live in, I'm super grateful for the privilege of living here.

Previously, I was as a product designer at ByteDance, working on BytePlus - a data analytics platform to help companies to better leverage their data. Prior to that, I worked at Guidewire Software for two years as a UX designer, which experiences enable me to clearly and concisely communicate my ideas with different kinds of audience, whether it is my teammates, users, clients, or stakeholders. As a highly intentional and detail-oriented problem solver, I think deeply about user problems, and make sure that there is a reason behind every product decision I make.

 

I graduated from UW-Madison with a B.S. degree in Computer Science and a minor in Graphic Design, which decision has enabled me to meet with incredibly talented peers from various fields and connect with them on topics outside of my forte. I love learning and helping others; if you have any questions about my experiences or my work,  need some help proofreading your resume, I would be happy to help.
